A ballotin is a cardboard packaging that is used almost exclusively for the chocolate market. The conical shape of this box makes it unique. Since chocolate often looks for a more exclusive look in its packaging, this box is often used for this purpose. In general, this packaging is elegantly finished for a certain look. Think of a gold shiny effect (hot foil), feeling effect (embossing) or a spot varnish.

A ballotin box can possibly come into direct contact with food and is therefore 100% food safe. Food safety is something that is very important in folding cardboard because folding cardboard is used a lot in the food sector. A conical box often has a car lock closure for extra strength.
