Colour Management

Colour Management

Everyone has had the experience that they printed something out on a colour printer and the desired result in terms of colour was not what was expected.

Ideally, there would be an exact reproduction of the colours from the original (for example, a digital photograph) to the desired target (for example, a print of a label), but in practice it is really different.

The essence of colour management is that the photo as you see it on your screen looks just the same when you print it out. Each piece of equipment that you use (input, monitor, output) has a so called colour profile and as you can understand, they are rarely or never identical. Therefore the result on your screen is also different from the final print, and that is why there have to be adjustments made, and that is what we call colour management.

Within Altrif Label we are constantly striving to further develop our expertise in colour management. By being preoccupied every day with this topic we are capable of providing printed matter of the highest quality.
